Web 2.0? WOW!!!
I didn't realize how much was out there, and had been using most of the web as read only. As educators we really need to get on board so that we can help our students, which most already know how to do the "write" aspect of 2.0 (my space), and teach them how to use it to their advantage correctly! They need to know how to use the web to enhance their learning and we need to learn it ourselves and experiment(play) with it. In one site they commented on how the web is the next explosion in education like the printing press was earlier to education. I believe they are correct. Students now days really do strive to know more and the technology used in the classroom really does make them come alive. I can see that this PFK class is really going to help those of us taking it come "Alive" to the revolution of the web this next year. I hope you all are as excited as I am after reading the things that I have.
I always tell my students that "The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know!!! Wow, I have a lot to learn but I am ready! :)

With over 300-500 different web tools no wonder we are only scratching the surface. I too feel that as educators we are stuck in what is comfortable and what we know, whereas our students are willing to step out there and test the waters with new technologies. Question - Do we as their teachers provide them the opportunities to explore and use these new technologies? Learning these new tools is one thing implementing them in our classroom is another. I think most teachers think that using and teaching these tools would be one more thing to add to an already busy schedule and curriculum, yet in reality it would really make our jobs easier and the students would enjoy coming to class. I think the teachers that are using these tools and being more creative in their classroom are seeing the enjoyment of true learning in their classrooms! Any level student would benefit from having a variety of formats, skills, and tools to facilitate their learning.

I agree too! I'm afraid we'e boring our kids and ourselves teaching the way we were taught. I think we have seen differences and seem to be headed in a good direction. It just takes time for everyone to get on board.
I think it is important that we are aware of the technology that are students use on a daily basis. Though it can often seem overwhelming!
